Appearance
aldereve looks nothing like either of her two litter mates. Whereas her brother, Nightstep, is black and white, and her sister, Brightmoon, is completely white, aldereve is mainly dominated by a soft, ginger color. The one thing the three siblings do have in common, however, is the white they all seem to posses. aldereve has always resembled her mother Firebird, and her older brother from a previous litter, Flameshadow. Her coat is short, and where it is ginger, it is dominated by darker ginger stripes appearing over her body. The white mainly remains on her stomach, reaching up between her eyes as well as over her muzzle. All four of her paws are white, though the amount of white present on each one varies from paw to paw.

Her facial features can generally be considered as soft, though this could just be due to her young age. Ever since kithood, she seems to have had an innocent appearance about her. This is also aided by the fact she isn't very large. Unlike her brother, who has begun to grow into a fine EverClan tom, aldereve has remained rather small, appearing more dainty than other cats. This is yet another trait she shares in common with her mother, Firebird. It is thought that she won't grow very much more. She might lengthen a little, and maybe gain some height, but not much else. She's still waiting to gain a more mature appearance, rather tired of her young-seeming structure, hoping that she'll at least look like a mature cat, even with her small size.

Other than soft fur and gentle features, aldereve is graced with a pair of deep amber eyes. Though they aren't as attention grabbing as her sister's eyes, they can be quite captivating, and tend to burn with the depth of the emotions she is feeling. They are both a blessing and a curse. Should she be able to use them to her advantage, aldereve can convince almost anyone of anything she'd like, simply by shifting the glint in her eyes. On the other paw, however, they show just about everything she is feeling if she finds her control over her gaze slipping, which generally happens when she becomes nervous.

Personality
aldereve is a two-edged sword if there ever was one. on one hand she is the most opinionated cat you will ever meet, but on the other she is kind and loving, forgiving and gentle.

but when she’s right, she knows she’s right, and she will let you know she’s right.

she was always this way, ever since she was a kit. she was smart one, or so her mother tells her, and her love for learning from a young age took her intelligence above and beyond. aldereve was the queen of who, what, when, where, why, and how. that trait helps her in her duties as a medicine cat. she’s always looking for a solution to any ailment, and won’t take no for an answer—that’s another thing, she’s as stubborn as they come. this can be a blessing and a curse. it can be tough to reason with her, but since she’s usually right about things there’s no point in trying most of the time. this quality has allowed her to save several lives and use her skills and knowledge in unconventional ways to get to the desired end result.

as i said before, aldereve is kind and loving, but is a no-nonsense kind of feline. she isn’t very tolerant of petty whining about trivial things and will let you know if you are partaking in this kind of talk. there will be no confusion on how she thinks is the mature and respectable way to act. speaking of respect, another thing she doesn’t tolerate is the disrespect of elders and authority, be it by peers or younger cats in the clan. she tries her very best to use the “golden rule” when dealing with others—“treat others as you would have them treat you”.

now, this isn’t to say that aldereve hates having fun and is a complete stick in the mud—no, this isn’t the case at all. Aldereve likes to play around and she loves to laugh. as a medicine cat, she subscribes to the notion that laughter is the best medicine. one of her favorite things to do is spend time with various cats in the clan, simply talking, sharing stories, telling jokes, etc. it’s just that she doesn’t have as much time for that as some cats do, especially when there’s sickness going around, or when she’s short on herbs and has to do some gathering.

Biography/History
aldereve was born as one of three to a mother and father who loved them more than anything in the world. they adored them because they were hoping to raise them better than before. her parents had wanted kits so badly all along but were never able to get pregnant. in other words, they was the most pleasant surprise in the world.

for a long time after alderkit was born, her mother was chronically ill and stayed a queen much longer than the average she-cat. her father stayed an active warrior but spent much of his time checking in on and looking after alderkit and her mother.

despite this somewhat troublesome time, alderkit got a rich education well before her apprenticeship began. her parents as well as the elders she so adored told her all about starclan and about what it meant to be a member of such a prestigious and strong clan. they told her about cats in the annals of the four clan’s histories, both good and evil. they told her what it meant to be a leader, a deputy, and most intriguing to her—a medicine cat.

she was drawn to the life of a medicine cat because she saw how the current medicine cat took care of her sweet mother all the times she fell ill. she was around herbs and the practices used to put them into action from a young age, and was always by her mother’s side learning which herb did this to help this and so on.

for this reason, it was no surprise when alderkit became alderpaw and was chosen to serve and learn in medicine cat apprenticeship. she was thrilled. she fell right in, learning as much as she could and even practicing it in her downtime when her mentor wasn’t around.

despite her hands-on experience even prior to apprenticeship, she did have some trouble with being too headstrong and presumptuous, thinking that she knew it all when really she did not. there were several occasions where poor unfortunate cats ended up with minor maladies due to the treatments used by the young cat. this usually resulted in alderpaw being lectured by her mentor and then them both sharing a laugh at the humor in the fact that she had given some cat diarrhea.

but, as everyone knows, it takes experience, practice, and trial-and-error to learn effectively enough to do things on your own. alderpaw stayed an apprentice for many moons, as her mentor was also a young cat when he was appointed to his position. there was never a time when she regretted this—she was a curious but type-a (this quality came about in the later years of her apprenticeship) cat in that liked to make sure she was doing things right before
